What's the difference between a fuse box and a circuit breaker board?
A fuse box uses cartridge or rewirable fuses that must be replaced when blown. A modern circuit breaker board has switches that trip when a fault occurs and can be reset immediately. Circuit breakers are safer, faster to reset, and are required by current building regulations.
Can sockets be installed anywhere in a room?
Socket positioning is constrained by cable runs, structural elements, and safety rules. Sockets near sinks, showers, or outside must have extra protection. Running cables through walls may require chasing or surface trunking depending on the property structure.
What should I know before having my property rewired?

Is an EV charger the same as plugging into a standard socket?
No. A 3-pin plug charger is slow and can overheat the circuit. A dedicated EV charger has its own circuit direct from the consumer unit, proper earthing, and fault protection. It charges faster and is much safer for regular use.
Why might a property need rewiring before being sold?
